Say Hello to My 2018 Favorite Book Blogs!

I mentioned before that I want to put up a blogroll on my sidebar. It's a bit of a difficult process of culling a handful of book blogs when we all know that there are lots and lots of amazing book bloggers out there. Rest assured that this is not an all-inclusive list of book bloggers that I read from, but more of a list of my current personal book blogging idols. They made this list because I am a fan of the overall personality of their blogs, or their ability to read hundreds of books a year, or I enjoy reading their book reviews, or they have unique trailblazing content, or they organize blog events that are relevant for the reading community.

I am linking up this post on Top Ten Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl (this week's prompt is "Favorite Book Blogs/Bookish Websites") and on 2018 Discussion Challenge hosted by Feed Your Fiction Addiction and It Starts at Midnight.

So. Let's get on to the list:

When I visit and read Aimee's blog, I can feel that this young girl knows what she's doing. I am naturally drawn to her spunk and confidence.

Fay is the host of a book blog event called Book Discrimination Awareness Month. It's an annual event that she started in 2014 in an attempt to fight book discrimination. For the whole month long of its running, Fay posts author interviews and blogger spotlights to capture the book community's experiences or perception about book discrimination.
I am not a big participant of book events in the Philippines but I get to live vicariously through JM's book blog. He is like the master recapper of book events here in our country. And he is also one of the organizers of #BookwormsUnitePH, a massive meet-up of Filipino YA fans.
Bookbed is like the Filipino Book Riot. It has book merch and other bookish sorts. It started in 2010 as an online secondhand bookshop which later grew into a community of bookworm contributors that fosters a #ReadingNation. Some of its project in the past are book blind dates and an online short story writing contest.
Nicole is one of the nicest people in the book community. I just love her blog because it is so toxic-free.
She co-hosts the 2018 Discussion Challenge which is a monthly bloggy thing where you can get featured, join book giveaways, and link-up discussion posts!

    It Starts At Midnight
Shannon's blog is oozing with personality. I love how she post the most relatable things about book blogging. I adore how she does blogging her way -- like posting recaps of her favorite show, The 100, in a book blog because why not?
She is also the host of Shattering Stigmas, an annual blog event about mental health in YA books.

No need for introductions 'coz I think everyone already knows Cait, right? But in case you haven't heard of her, she is an ace book blogger with a hoard of cakes and a horde of dragon secretaries doing her bidding.
Also, she is a published YA author now so I think she is right on track towards achieving her goal of world domination.

This is a book blog and a digital magazine from a team of YA enthusiasts around the world, helmed by YA writer, Hazel Ureta.
Hazel is also a blog designer extraordinaire, a certified authority on all things pretty. I've met her in person before and she is simply the sweetest!

Shealea's book blog came to my radar recently because of a blog event she is currently hosting called #Augvocacy2018. For the whole month of August, she is featuring Filipino bloggers and authors to emphasize the importance of fostering a culture of reading in the Philippines.
This girl lives up to her blog name. Her rant posts about the issues plaguing the book community are uhm, bitchy, but she does not leave these problems hanging. She presents a solution for them like what she did with the issue on book piracy, where she offered up an exhaustive list of legal and free book resources.
Erika is the organizer of a blog tour I recently participated in and the whole thing run smoothly, thanks to her. Okay a bit of a digression, but I just want to express my gratitude to all the big established Filipino book bloggers like Erika who organize PH blog tours. Not only do they help authors and publishers promote books for free, they also give access to smaller book blogs like me to read the titles that we couldn't have probably got on our own. So yeah, thank you!
Erika is also a self-taught digital artist. You might probably know how I am not gifted with creative talents so I instantly idolize people like her. Some of her creations include fan arts and character trade cards.
